China Life (Overseas) Named Official Insurance Partner of the Inaugural Northern Metropolis Marathon 2026
HONG KONG, 14 October 2026 – China Life Insurance (Overseas) Company Limited (“China Life (Overseas)”) today announced that it has been named the Official Insurance Partner of the inaugural Northern Metropolis Marathon 2026 (the “Northern Metropolis Marathon”), organised by the Heung Yee Kuk New Territories. The Company is supporting this major event, which brings together sport, community engagement and regional development. Through the partnership, China Life (Overseas) hopes to further engage with local communities, strengthen its connections with customers and members of the public, promote healthy living, and engage with the wider community as the Northern Metropolis continues to develop.
The Northern Metropolis Marathon will take place on 1 November 2026 and feature a full marathon, half marathon, 10-kilometre race, and 1,600-metre individual and family categories. The race route will also incorporate the newly commissioned Fanling Bypass, marking the first time it will be used for a running event in Hong Kong. Beyond the race, participants can enjoy a post-race carnival featuring local village cuisine, as well as special offers from restaurants along the route, adding a distinctly New Territories flavour to the event.
Bringing Customers Closer to the Action
Building closer connections with customers and the wider community has long been important to China Life (Overseas). In mid-October 2026, the Company will offer complimentary race entries to members through a limited-time promotion on its value-added services platform “ENRICH”, encouraging customers to get active and take part in this landmark sporting event.
Extending healthy living into everyday life
Beyond taking part in the Marathon with its customers, China Life (Overseas) will host an interactive booth at the Marathon Expo during the race pack collection period from 28 to 31 October. Through a range of interactive activities, the Company hopes to engage with runners and the wider public while promoting healthy and active lifestyles as part of the overall race experience.
China Life (Overseas) also hopes to take the event’s focus on healthy living beyond the race itself, encouraging people to pay greater attention to their own and their families’ health, protection and future planning needs as they pursue a more active lifestyle. During the race pack collection period, visitors who register at the China Life (Overseas) booth and subsequently visit one of the Company’s 70 Wealth Management Centres* across Hong Kong within the designated promotion period can learn more about their personal and family protection and wealth management needs. They will also receive a supermarket cash voucher and enjoy “ENRICH” membership offers.
A spokesperson for China Life (Overseas) said: “We are delighted to be the Official Insurance Partner of the inaugural Northern Metropolis Marathon. A marathon calls for endurance, determination and long-term commitment, and we believe the same mindset applies to looking after our health and planning for the protection we may need throughout life cycle. Through this event, we hope to encourage people not only to stay active, but also to make health awareness part of everyday life and take a more proactive approach to understanding their own and their families’ health and protection needs. With our extensive service network across Hong Kong, China Life (Overseas) will continue to be there for our customers and the wider community through different stages of life.
“China Life (Overseas) has deep roots in Hong Kong, and building lasting connections with our customers and local communities has always been important to us. We believe sports bring people together while encouraging healthier lifestyles. The Northern Metropolis Marathon also gives participants an opportunity to discover different parts of the New Territories and see first-hand how the Northern Metropolis is taking shape. We are therefore pleased not only to support the event, but also to be part of it with our customers and the public, strengthening our connections with the communities we serve.”
The Northern Metropolis Marathon will be held from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, 1 November 2026. Event venues include the Heung Yee Kuk New Territories Building, North District Sports Ground and Hong Kong Science Park.
China Life (Overseas) looks forward to taking this journey together with the community towards a vibrant future for the Northern Metropolis!
